The last thing you should feel in the buckeye state is boredom. To give you a head start on planning, we did the hard work and compiled a list of our top 10 Columbus events and attractions to attend this summer.

Columbus Arts Festival

Stop by Columbus’ downtown Riverfront to attend the 2016 Columbus Arts Festival occurring June 10th through the 12th. The nation’s top artists showcase their work in a spectacular outdoor art gallery.

The festival also features Columbus’ finest food, live music, dance and theatre performances, film screenings, hands-on art activities and more!

Buckeye Country Superfest

If you’re a fan of country music, you cannot miss the annual country music extravaganza hosted in Columbus. On June 18th and 19th, join the biggest country stars for live performances and even an opportunity to meet your favorite musicians.

This event is held in The Shoe, as a bonus to Buckeye Fans. It doesn’t hurt that there is delicious food and cold beer either.

Columbus Clippers

Gather a group of friends to go see the Columbus Clippers play this summer at Huntington Park. Enjoy great baseball and your favorite stadium snack with friends and family. Inside the stadium stop by Donatos, City Barbeque, Bob Evans, or CBC Brewery for delicious grub and drink.

Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival

If country isn’t your thing, the city of Gahanna hosts the annual award-winning Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival June 17th through the 19th. The festival includes live blues and jazz music, cocktail tasting, and mouth-watering cuisine.

Free Fitness Classes

The Columbus Commons offers two free fitness courses per person from May 2nd through October 1st. Fitness courses you can choose from include Bootcamp, Cardio, Yoga, Kickboxing, Hip Hop and Zumba.

If you are new to Columbus, this is a great way to join the community and make new friends, as well as figure out what kind of fitness classes that you like best.

Red, White & Boom

It’s fair to assume all Columbus natives have heard of Red, White & Boom. This year the annual celebration occurs on July 1st, from noon to 11:00 PM.

The extravaganza includes a parade, Columbus’ best food and an amazing fireworks show that you cannot miss. If you have not attended, please note that parking can be a challenge due to the large attendance. We suggest taking the bus, carpooling or riding bikes to avoid any complications in the festivities.

North Market Ohio Wine Festival

The North Market Ohio Wine Festival features Ohio’s premium wineries and wonderful food samplings. Stop by on July 8th, 9th or 10th to sample local wine.

As the date approaches, tickets will become available to purchase on their website.

Movies by Moonlight

Each Tuesday in June, July and August, Easton Town Center hosts outdoor screenings of various films. Snuggle up with a blanket and snacks to watch a film in the beautiful summer evening.

Movies such as The Wizard of Oz, Pan, Field of Dreams, Inside Out and The Goonies will be screened at dusk.

Jazz and Rib Festival

What could be better than hot ribs and cool jazz? The Jazz and Rib Festival occurs July 22nd through the 24th and the admission is free!

The event brings together renowned international and local musicians. Additionally the pit masters present sizzling ribs, chicken and more!

Columbus Food Truck Festival

The Columbus Commons hosts the Food and Truck Festival on Friday, August 12th and Saturday August 13th. With more than sixty vendors to choose from this event is guaranteed to please any palate.

In addition to the best food trucks in Ohio, the festival offers live music and crafts for children.
